Italian Pasta Sauce


If you want to kick up your pasta dishes with a bunch of nice flavor, find the time to make this sauce recipe. It'll give new meaning to the word delicious!

  • Ingredients:
    1. 1 28 oz can of tomato sauce
    2. 1 28 oz can of tomato puree
    3. 1 small can tomato paste
    4. 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
    5. 4 large cloves of garlic; finely minced
    6. 1/2 small onion; peeled & finely chopped
    7. 2 Tbsp fresh basil; finely chopped
    8. 1 Tbsp fresh parsley; finely chopped
    9. 1 Tbsp dry oregano
    10. 3 Tbsp cane sugar
    11. 1/2 cup parmesan reggiano cheese
    12. 1 bay leaf; remove from sauce before serving
    13. sea salt & black pepper; approx. 1 tsp of each or to taste
  • Directions:
    1. Using a large saucepan add olive oil & place on a medium high burner.
    2. Add onion & garlic, cook & stir until lightly brown.
    3. Stir in tomato paste until smooth & bring heat to a simmer.
    4. Add tomato sauce, puree & all remaining ingredients, stir well.
    5. For best results allow sauce to cook on low heat for 2-4 hours while continuously stirring throughout the process.
    6. Remove bay leaf & serve with amore'!
    7. 'OTG Cooking Show' Tip: You can always double up on the ingredients & freeze leftovers, which taste even better because all the flavors meld together.
